JOB TITLE: Technical Producer 2
REPORTS TO: Director of Staffing
FLSA STATUS: Full-Time, Exempt, Salaried
Job Summary:
The Technical Producer 2 is responsible for managing the technical planning, coordination, and execution of live and on-demand video productions across multiple distribution platforms. This role supports end-to-end technical workflows, including webcast setup, transmission routing, accessibility integration, and delivery scheduling. The Technical Producer 2 partners closely with internal teams, vendors, and platform stakeholders to ensure seamless live and VOD experiences across Teams, Kaltura, and other broadcast systems.

Essential Functions:
Webcasting & Transmission Management
Manage and execute all webcasting work orders across Microsoft Teams, Kaltura, and MPS platforms.
Oversee all transmission (TX) work orders, including IP/network, fiber, and cellular routing.
Ensure technical reliability, redundancy, and broadcast-quality performance for live and recorded productions.
Collaborate with IT, broadcast, and vendor teams to troubleshoot and resolve transmission issues in real time.
Distribution Operations
Manage and maintain all distribution lists and distribution schedules for live and recorded content.
Oversee scheduling and coordination for:
Live broadcasts
Live playout
Simulive events
Video-on-demand (VOD) uploads and publication
Coordinate with internal partners and vendors to ensure accurate routing, scheduling, and delivery of all content.
Vendor & Partner Coordination
Serve as the primary point of contact for booking and managing webcasting and transmission resources and services.
Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure proper technical setup, quality control, and on-time delivery of all outputs.
Perform QC checks for all deliverables to confirm adherence to technical and brand standards.
Accessibility Integration
Manage and oversee accessibility features for all live and recorded productions, including:
Closed captioning
ASL interpretation
Audio description
Coordinate accessibility vendors and ensure compliance with accessibility standards for all deliverables.
Platform Management & Support
Teams:
Provide production and technical support for Global Leadership Team (GLT) internal meetings, town halls, and other live events.
Create, configure, and support Teams Live Events, ensuring smooth setup, execution, and post-event wrap.
Provide best practices guidance for meeting producers, presenters, and stakeholders.
Kaltura:
Manage and maintain Kaltura channels, ensuring proper content organization, accessibility, and playback quality.
Support project creation, setup, and maintenance within Kaltura.
Provide live show support for Kaltura-based webcasts and events.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organizational and scheduling abilities across multiple concurrent productions.
Clear communicator with ability to collaborate effectively with technical, creative, and business stakeholders.
Detail-oriented and process-driven, with commitment to quality control and accessibility compliance.
Adaptable and calm under pressure during live broadcast environments.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Engineering, Media Production, Communications, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
Equivalent technical training or extensive hands-on experience in live production or broadcast operations may substitute for a formal degree.
5+ years of experience in live video production, broadcast operations, or enterprise streaming environments.
Proven experience with Microsoft Teams Live Events, Kaltura, or comparable webcasting platforms.
Demonstrated experience managing transmission systems (IP, fiber, cellular) and coordinating technical resources for live or simulive events.
Experience implementing accessibility features such as captions, ASL, and audio descriptions in live and VOD environments.
Strong background in technical troubleshooting, video file management, and post-production delivery workflows.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional technical, production, and vendor teams in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
Work Environment:
This role routinely requires using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and printers
This position may require the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Must be able to operate various electronic devices
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time, Hybrid-WA role, defined as a combination of remote and in-office / on-site work within the Greater Seattle Area (King, Pierce, and Snohomish Counties). This person would be required to come on site to our client’s studio in Redmond as needed for projects. The office generally operates from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., but the days and hours of this position may vary week-to-week. Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay for this role is $85,000 - $95,000 annually. Compensation will be determined based on the applicant’s skills, qualifications, and experience, along with the position’s requirements, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
