Job Summary:
The Motion Graphic Designer leads and provides art directions for creative projects through initial design/conceptions to establishing the visual identity of the project, including color palettes, typography, static and motion graphics and imageries, layouts, and upholding the overall LinkedIn brand look and feel for videos and live content. The Motion Graphic Designer is also responsible for creating conceptual storyboards and putting together presentation decks that combine copywriting with design layouts as well as presenting design ideas and approaches with key stakeholders across various teams. Additionally, the Motion Graphic Designer will also execute on the design and motion animation (sometimes may also involve the utilization of various AI tools) of the approved concepts and boards while seeing the project through to completion and final delivery.
The Motion Graphic Designer will collaborate with accounts, production, and post-production teams and work with various internal clients/stakeholders. The Motion Graphic Designer should have excellent visual storytelling skills, a deep understanding of design principles and branding integrations as well as camera technologies, experience with editing styles, and strong writing and directing chops. They should be able to work independently and be part of a cross-functional team. This role is a full-time, exempt position based on a 32-hour, 4-day workweek. This hybrid role is based in Sunnyvale, CA, and involves some office work and requires regular on-site production expectations. This person will be hired to support our clients at LinkedIn. This person must provide a reel and samples of work outlining their role within each.
Essential Functions:
Conceptualize, develop visual styles, and design storyboards/visual identities for motion video and content.
Create concept boards and mood boards to visually communicate ideas and overall design aesthetics to partners and key stakeholders.
Build design presentation decks and present to key stakeholders
Overseeing the full process from design to animation/execution and delivery of final video content
Work with various AI tools such as Runway, Sora, Elevenlabs, etc. to help bring concepts and vision to life through videos and animations as needed and relevant to project directions
Support motion graphic asset and toolkit creations for all forms of content including Social/Vertical, Traditional 16x9, as well as mainstage event content.
Design and produce custom motion graphics for corporate marketing and product videos (ie. Sizzle Videos, Branding and Product Promo videos, Interviews and Weekly Episodic videos).
Utilizing graphics, animations, music and video footage, edit together highly compelling and engaging videos such as sizzles, product montage, corporate identities, and episodics.
Create graphics using After Effects and Premiere Pro, with particular focus on the technical accuracy of the content and pacing of visuals.
Collaborate with Producers, Editors, and Creative Partners to create effective videos that will help drive engagement and awareness to our products and business initiatives.
Work with Manager, Director and Business Strategy team to develop, define, and implement new aesthetics for motion graphics.
Provide design feedback for other designers on the team and ensure that visuals align with the project’s overall artistic vision.
Shepard graphics through the workflow process, ensuring the timely handoff of graphics elements to video editors.
Create storyboards or design concepts to be shared with creative team and key stakeholders.
Manage priorities and workload effectively to meet all schedules and deadlines.
Set accurate estimates on delivery expectations and send status updates to the Post Production Manager and Production team.
Research and continuously evaluate of industry trends, our production needs and propose technology to support, streamline and improve our postproduction process.
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
Perform other creative and production duties as assigned.
Stay informed about latest design trends, technologies, and tools to maintain a contemporary and relevant visual style.
Make recommendations to the graphic and editing production workflow to ensure efficient processes are in place for the ever-changing video content market.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Must have Demo reel and or sample work to be qualified for consideration of the role that includes diverse body of work – social, promo, interview
Must have an extensive, strong portfolio that exhibits creative vision and composition skills demonstrating senior-level design experience in the following categories: 2D & 3D motion design, general concept design and layout, sizzle and commercial videos and designs, etc.
Must have strong visual design sense and aesthetics
Strong copywriting skills is essential
Skilled in development of media and design from concept to completion
Advanced understanding of Adobe After Effects, Premiere and other design tools (Cinema 4D is a plus)
Must have experience working with Figma and other similar UI design tools
Excellent interpersonal relationship skills and ability to effectively and professionally interact within a team environment
Must have exceptional written and oral communication skills
Must have exceptional comprehension and analytical ability
Driven to always improve skills
Must be a self-starter who can work independently with limited supervision
Skilled in organizing and prioritizing of work and following assignments through to completion
Ability to work well under pressure with tight deadlines, with a sense of urgency
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a variety of personalities and work styles
Ability to be flexible and adaptable to constant change
Education and Experience:
A minimum of 5 years as a Motion Designer with experience and comprehension of corporate branding and informational graphic design
Must have solid foundation in design principles, typography, and color theory
Proven advanced After Effects skills used in a production work environment
Proven advanced design skills utilizing Photoshop and Illustrator.
Bachelor's degree in graphic design or equivalent training/education
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Work Environment:
This role routinely requires using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and printers.
This position may require the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Must be able to operate various electronic devices.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This role is a full-time, exempt position based on a 32-hour, 4-day workweek. This role is designated as Hybrid - CA. Hybrid combines remote and in-office / on-site work in the Greater San Francisco Area. You are expected to work in person at our client’s office in Sunnyvale, CA, as the client requires. This role will be expected to work remotely when there is no onsite work. The office generally operates from 9 am-5 pm, but the days and hours of this position may vary week-to-week. A willingness to work varying schedules, including weekends, nights, holidays, long shifts (10+ hours), and travel as needed is required for productions. Mighty Media’s workplace policies are subject to change at any time based on business necessity and manager discretion.
Additional Information:
This role will perform work for certain clients of the Company that continually assess their budgets and their relationship with the Company. The Company responds to these assessments appropriately when it receives them by adjusting the number of employees necessary to service the clients’ requests.
Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay for this role is $125,000/annually. Compensation will be determined based on the applicant's skills, qualifications, and experience, along with the position's requirements, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. For this role, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
