JOB TITLE: Editor and Visual Storyteller
REPORTS TO: Program Manager - Satellite
FLSA STATUS: Full-Time, Exempt, Salary

Job Summary:

You will be responsible for editing the Official Xbox Podcast and sizzle trailers, along with creating graphics and other visual media for digital and news/editorial content, for our clients at Xbox. 

Essential Functions:

  • Successfully complete short-form and long-form projects including full episodes, sizzle reels, social media content, and other formats as needed; 

  • Creation of visual graphics, such as infographics, for clients to be used in Podcast and Blog sites 

  • Independently manage the organization of project media and assets throughout the editorial process; 

  • Complete assignments in a timely manner with a constant awareness of review cycles and deadlines; 

  • Work closely with Supervising Producer in a collaborative and efficient manner to consistently deliver high quality work to clients; 

  • Deliver consistent outputs based on client specifications; 

  • Execute edit notes from producers, clients, and management without supervision. Prioritize effectively using independent judgement. 

  • Analyze timelines, set accurate estimates for delivery expectations and effectively inform applicable stakeholders via status updates; and 

  • Independently manage priorities and workload to meet all schedules and deadlines. 

 Other Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Take the initiative to stay current regarding editing trends (both creative and tech) to help ensure the company remains competitive. 

  • Run prompter during podcast and other recordings, as needed. 

  • Travel to assist with remote productions may be needed. 

 Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven editing skills using Adobe Creative Suite (REEL REQUIRED); 

  • Strong project management, communication skills, attention to detail, and professionalism; 

  • Microsoft Office-proficient; 

  • Able to self-manage and determine timelines and deliverables; 

  • Ability to multi-task and communicate well; and 

  • Ability to take client feedback gracefully and incorporate it into revisions. 

  • Not required, but a plus if you’re comfortable shooting video as well. 

 Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years as an editor in a corporate, broadcast or other professional environment. 

  • Professional experience with Adobe CC, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop. 

  • Knowledge of the video game industry is a HUGE plus. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Work Environment:

  • This role routinely requires using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and printers.  

  • This position may require the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  

  • Must be able to operate various electronic devices.  

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time Hybrid role, defined as a combination of remote and in-office / On-site work within the Greater Seattle Area (King, Pierce, and Snohomish Counties). You are expected to work in-office at our client studio in Redmond a few days a month, sometimes more frequently depending on project necessity. This role will be expected to work remotely when there is no onsite work. The office generally operates from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., but the days and hours of this position may vary week-to-week. Mighty Media’s workplace policies are subject to change at any time based on business necessity and manager discretion.    

Additional Information:

  • The pay range for this role is $85k - $95k annually. Compensation will be determined based on the applicant's skills, qualifications, and experience, along with the position's requirements, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. For this role, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
