JOB TITLE:  Accounts Receivable Accountant
REPORTS TO:  Accounting Manager
FLSA STATUS:  Non-Exempt, Hourly

Job Summary:

The Accounts Receivable Accountant plays a vital role in ensuring accurate invoicing to our clients and collecting those receivables. This role collaborates closely with the Production Team to actualize project budgets and resolve discrepancies. Strong time management skills and attention to detail are essential in this sometimes fast-paced, deadline-driven position.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

Essential Functions:

  • Independently create customer invoices and lead internal invoice meetings;

  • Execute the revenue functions of invoicing and collections autonomously;

  • Monitor, evaluate, and reconcile deposits with PO’s;

  • Audit and collect employee credit card reimbursements;

  • Enforce internal accounting policies and processes, particularly regarding credit card misuse;

  • Perform job profitability analysis to help aid in informed financial decisions of the Company;  

  • Lead and assist with various accounting tasks and ad hoc internal projects;

  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams both verbally and in writing;

  • Take initiative to research solutions, analyze data, and develop actionable financial recommendations;

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with month-end and year-end close activities and reconciliations;

  • Perform monthly General Ledger audits with discretion and sound judgment;

  • Collaborate with the Accounting team to enhance current processes;

  • Update or create process documentation for standard procedures;

  • Maintain an organized filing system for financial information, records, and documents;

  • Provide backup support for Accounts Payable as needed;

  • Participate in special projects as requested;

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Understanding of basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping;

  • Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks and meet deadlines;

  • Must be able to prioritize and reprioritize tasks while working in an environment that includes responding to frequent changes, delays, and unexpected events that arise;

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance;

  • 3-5 years of accounts receivable work experience;

  • Proficiency with QuickBooks, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat/Adobe Acrobat Sign;

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

 Work Environment:

  • This role routinely requires using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and printers.

  • This position may require the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • Must be able to operate various electronic devices.

 Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time Hybrid role, defined as a combination of remote and in-office / On-site work within the Greater Seattle Area (King, Pierce, and Snohomish Counties). You are expected to work in the office at least 3 days a week. The office generally operates from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mighty Media’s workplace policies are subject to change at any time based on business necessity and manager discretion.
